Hi, I’m Kirsty!

I’m the voice behind Postcards from Kirsty, and I’m here to share my love of travel with you. Whether it’s your first solo journey, a budget-friendly getaway, or a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, I’m here to inspire you to step into the unknown and explore with confidence.

How My Travel Journey Began
Out with the odd family holiday to Spain, I hadn’t really travelled much before heading off to university. Everything changed in my second year when a friend asked me if I fancied going on a six-week volunteering trip to Malawi. On a whim, I joined and wow, was it one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! I was now solely focused on seeing as much of the world as possible. It opened my eyes to how much I love discovering new cultures, connecting with people from all walks of life, and chasing authentic travel experiences. Travel gives me such a feeling of freedom, excitement, and joy that’s hard to put into words.

Adventures Across the Globe
Since that first trip, I’ve explored 31 countries across 5 continents and had some crazy experiences from bungee jumping in Thailand to paragliding over Lima. Many of these trips I managed while I was a student at university and funded with part-time jobs — proving that travel doesn’t have to be expensive or out of reach. Even now, I’m always on the lookout for my next adventure (the more budget-friendly, the better!). These experiences taught me one key lesson: with a little creativity, travel is accessible to anyone willing to take a chance.

A little about me…

Why ‘Postcards from Kirsty’?

I chose the name Postcards from Kirsty for sentimental reasons. No matter where I’m travelling – whether it’s the top of N Seoul Tower in South Korea or the colourful cliffs of Manarola in Italy – I always find a postcard and send it home to my Gran and my parents in Scotland.

There’s something so special about putting pen to paper. It feels more personal and meaningful than a quick text, and over time, those postcards have become little keepsakes for me – snapshots of moments I might’ve otherwise forgotten.
