5 Best Pumpkin Patches near Glasgow
Arnprior Farm Pumpkin Patch

- Dates: 11th October – 26th October 2025
- Ticket price: £14.90 per car
- ASN: Sessions available on specific dates
- Dogs: Allowed as long as they’re on a lead
- Public transport: X10 bus from Glasgow or Stirling
Arnprior Farm is one of the most popular pumpkin patches in Scotland, so tickets tend to sell out fast. Hosting visitors since 2015, it proudly claims to be “Scotland’s original pumpkin festival”. Conveniently located in the central belt, it’s just 15 minutes from Stirling and under an hour from Glasgow and Perth.
Open for three weeks in October, visitors receive a 2.5-hour allocated time slot to explore their patch, which has over 20,000 pumpkins of all shapes, sizes, and colours. Beyond pumpkin picking, there’s face painting, a bouncy castle, quad pod rides, a pumpkin cannon, and pop-up food trucks serving everything from ice cream and burgers to gin.
Turn your visit into a cosy autumn getaway by booking one of Arnprior’s eco-friendly luxury glamping pods. With a private hot tub and access to a private indoor heated swimming pool, it’s the perfect way to relax after a chilly day in the fields.
✨ Top Tip: I visited Arnprior Farm towards the end of October, and the fields were super muddy from all the visitors over the month. I’d suggest bringing wellies or planning your visit for earlier in the month.

Blair Drummond Safari Park Pumpkin Patch

- Ticket price: £22.50 for adults and £16 for child

This isn’t your typical pumpkin patch, which is why tickets are a little pricier – but it’s worth every penny for a full day out with the whole family. Blair Drummond Safari Park is only 10 minutes from Stirling and 40 minutes from Glasgow, and is home to over 300 animals, from giraffes and elephants to lions.
Beyond the animals, the park is packed with festive activities. Pick your own pumpkin, follow the trick-or-treat trail, explore the hay-bale play pit, climb the giant hay bale spiders, and even toast marshmallows over fire pits at their HalloWILD festival.
✨ Top Tip: Typical pumpkin patches only keep you busy for an hour or two, but here you’ll want to spend the whole day. Go prepared and bring a picnic to make the most of your visit.

Located in Renfrew, just a 25-minute drive from Glasgow city centre, East Yonderton Farm transforms into a convenient pumpkin-picking destination come October. Although the pumpkin patch only opened in 2019, it has quickly become a local favourite.
This is a down-to-earth pumpkin patch – no frills, no fuss – perfect if you don’t want to venture too far from the city or spend a fortune. Alongside your pumpkin, you can also pick up potatoes, veg and a little loop and scoop treat!
✨ Top Tip: They mainly share updates and booking information on their East Yonderton Farm Facebook page. Contact them there to reserve a time slot for the pumpkin patch, or check if you can drop by on a specific day.

Just a 30-minute drive from Glasgow, Valley View at Gouldings is one of the more budget-friendly pumpkin patches near the city. Your ticket gets you a one-hour slot to explore their pumpkin patch, and you can even carve your pumpkin at their carving stations – ideal for avoiding the mess at home!
The farm also offers plenty of additional activities to keep the kids entertained. Warm up in the on-site restaurant with homemade soup and hot chocolate, browse the toy and gift shop, explore the adventure park, or head to the indoor play area.
✨ Top Tip: These extras (the adventure park or indoor play area) are separate from the pumpkin patch, so just be prepared to pay extra!
5 Best Pumpkin Patches near Edinburgh
Balgone Estate Pumpkin Patch

- Dates: Selected dates throughout October (mostly weekends)
- Ticket price: £18.00 per car
- Dogs: Allowed as long as they’re on a lead
Out of all the pumpkin patches in Scotland I’ve visited, Balgone Estate was by far my favourite. The views and location are just beautiful, and unlike other patches where I can quickly get bored, there’s loads to keep adults entertained here.
It is a bit further away from Edinburgh, about a 40-minute drive. Despite its pumpkin patch only opening in 2020, making it relatively new compared to some of the other patches on this list, it is, in fact, the largest pumpkin patch in Scotland, with 60,000 pumpkins of 27 varieties spread across 10 acres.
Beyond picking your pumpkin, there’s so much to do. I highly recommend walking along the 2km haunted trail, visiting the Crooked Cauldron to toast marshmallows, and grabbing a bite to eat from the food vans serving pizzas, burgers, falafel, and more.
✨ Top Tip: If you’re visiting with a group, why not turn your pumpkin-picking trip into an overnight getaway at the Granary on Balgone Estate? Sleeping 8–10 people, it comes with a private indoor pool, a hot tub, and a pool table – it’s the perfect way to make a weekend of it!

Cairnie Fruit Farm Pumpkin Patch
- Dates: 4th October – 31st October 2025
- Ticket price: £1.50 per person
Just a 20-minute drive from Dundee and St Andrews, 40 minutes from Perth and Dunfermline, and just over an hour from Edinburgh, Cairnie Fruit Farm is a fantastic choice for a budget-friendly autumn day out – perfect for families with children of all ages.
There’s plenty more to enjoy beyond the pumpkin patch. Children over eight can brave the Halloween Torchlight Maze. It can get quite spooky after dark, so don’t forget a torch and keep an eye out for eerie creatures lurking in the shadows.
Whereas, younger children will love the kids’ funyard, featuring a 6-acre mega maze, trampolines, crazy swings, a go-kart track, and more. Just a heads-up: both the maze and funyard require separate tickets from the pumpkin patch and therefore, cost extra.
✨ Top Tip: During the summer months, Cairnie Fruit Farm is also a fantastic spot for fresh fruit picking – from strawberries and raspberries to cherries and gooseberries. You can even pick sunflowers in August and September! So, even if you can’t make it to their pumpkin patch, there are plenty of reasons to visit throughout the year.
Conifox Adventure Park Pumpkin Patch
- Dates: Selected dates throughout October (mostly weekends)
- Ticket price: £10.50 per person
- Public transport: X19 from Murrayfield Parish Church to Almondside, then a short walk
Only a 30-minute drive from Edinburgh city centre, Conifox Adventure Park is pulling out all the stops this spooky season with both daytime and evening events.
Across the last three weekends in October, they’ll be hosting their Halloween Days, where your ticket includes entry to the pumpkin patch, the adventure park, themed photo spots, mazes, and even a disco.
For an extra cost, you can also enjoy funfair rides and the indoor activity centre with food vendors, a licensed bar, and a cosy firepit for toasting marshmallows.
✨ Top Tip: Even if you can’t make it along to the daytime events, the Halloween Fireworks Nights are well worth visiting. Your ticket includes almost everything from the daytime activities – like all the spooky mazes – just without the pumpkin patch. But what you do get is the added bonus of live fire performances and a fireworks display to round off the night. A great choice for celebrating Halloween and Bonfire Night all rolled into one.
Craigie’s Farm Deli and Cafe Pumpkin Patch

- Dates: 1st October – 31st October 2025
- Ticket price: £4-£7.50 per person, depending on session
- ASN: They offer quiet pumpkin picking sessions on specific dates
Just 20 minutes from Edinburgh, Craigie’s Farm is a go-to spot for autumn fun. Each year, they grow thousands of pumpkins for their much-loved Craigie’s Pumpkin Festival. Alongside picking your perfect pumpkin, you can get lost in the giant bale maze, hop on the barrel train ride, and snap plenty of Halloween-themed photos.
If you can’t make it during the day, then check out their Late Pumpkin Nights. With tasty seasonal food, a bar serving autumnal-themed drinks, and live music, it’s a brilliant alternative, especially for adults.
✨ Top Tip: The on-site restaurant serves delicious breakfasts and lunches, and the deli is great for picking up local produce. However, it’s worth noting that when I visited in October, it was really busy and food took a while to arrive – so just bear this in mind if you do order something.

East Links Pumpkin Patch
- Dates: 11th October – 31st October 2025
- Ticket price: £16.00 per person (plus booking fees)
- Public transport: X7 bus from St Andrew’s House to East Links Family Park, then a short walk
About a 50-minute drive from Edinburgh city centre, East Links Family Park is packed with activities! From a train safari and crazy golf to go-karts, trampolines and animal feeding, there’s so much more to do here than just picking a pumpkin.
Come October, the park gets a spooky seasonal twist with its Pumpkin Festival. Every child visiting gets a free pumpkin, and there are plenty of Halloween extras to enjoy, including a fancy-dress contest, a Halloween hunt, and even a haunted house.
✨ Top Tip: To keep costs down, you could bring a picnic with you and enjoy it in the indoor barn.
5 Best Pumpkin Patches near Aberdeen

Ethiebeaton Farm Pumpkin Patch

Ethiebeaton Farm is just 15 minutes from Dundee and a little over an hour from Aberdeen. Their pumpkin patch is charming and family-friendly, with pumpkins in every shape and size, plenty of photo spots, and food trucks for tasty treats!
Last year, they also added a hay bale maze, a pumpkin hunt, and plenty of activities to keep kids entertained.
✨ Top Tip: Details for the 2025 pumpkin patch haven’t been fully released yet, so be sure to check the Ethiebeaton Farm Facebook page for the latest updates.

Their two-hour children’s pumpkin patch experience includes a woodland activity, campfire treats like hot chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and s’mores, plus a pumpkin to take home and a little goody bag.
✨ Top Tip: Alongside year-round activities like orienteering and their woodland playpark, they host seasonal celebrations including an Easter event, a pumpkin patch at Halloween, and a magical winter woods experience at Christmas.
The Pumpkin Ranch
- Dates: 11th October – 26th October 2025
- Ticket price: £10 per car (+ booking fees)
- ASN: Sessions available on specific dates
The Pumpkin Ranch in Inverurie, just 20–25 minutes from Aberdeen, is the new kid on the block, having only opened in 2021. Back then, they planted just a couple of hundred pumpkin seeds by hand, but with growing popularity, that number has now risen to a substantial 25,000.
It’s also the only pumpkin patch on this list that’s undercover, so even if the weather turns, you’ll stay cosy and dry. Do pack a comfy jacket and wellies, though, as it can still get muddy and chilly. You can look forward to fun events and games for the kids, plus plenty of autumnal photo opportunities.
✨ Top Tip: Tickets are selling out quickly this year, so if you’re planning a visit to The Pumpkin Ranch, be sure to book early.

Westerton Farmers Pumpkin Patch
- Dates: 10th October – 31st October 2025
- Ticket price: £5 per car (+ booking fees)
- Dogs: Allowed as long as they’re on a lead
Westerton Farmers is a family-run farm in the North East of Scotland, just 35 minutes south of Aberdeen.
Every October, they open their much-loved pumpkin patch — and it’s more than just picking pumpkins. Kids (and grown-ups!) can enjoy a giant bale maze, tractor pod rides, an outdoor play area, and even meet the friendly farm animals, from goats and alpacas to chickens.
Beyond pumpkins, the farm also runs a ‘pick your own’ experience for seasonal vegetables and has a farm shop brimming with fresh local produce.
✨ Top Tip: After being out in the cold, relax in the cosy cafe and warm up by the log burner with a delicious hot chocolate.
Wynford Farm Park Pumpkin Patch
- Dates: 11th October – 26th October 2025
- Ticket price: £13.95 per adult and £14.45 per child
The Wynford Farm Park pumpkin patch is just one part of its larger Halloween Forgotten Fun House event. Located less than 20 minutes from Aberdeen city centre, it’s ideal for families or anyone looking for a fun day out that isn’t too far away.
Here, there are plenty of opportunities for autumnal family photos, and of course, the reason it’s on this list – you can pick and even carve your own pumpkin. Every child brave enough to explore the Forgotten Fun House receives a prize, and there are loads of other activities to enjoy, from visiting the indoor animal barn to see the usual farm animals, to meeting some of the more unusual creatures, like reptiles and amphibians — perfectly fitting for Halloween.
✨ Top Tip: If the famously unpredictable Scottish weather turns, the huge soft play barn will keep the kids entertained, or you can relax with a hot drink and delicious food in the cafe.
Tips for Choosing the Perfect Pumpkin Patch in Scotland

Here are some tips to help you pick the perfect pumpkin patch for you:
- Consider the Location: Choose pumpkin patches that are easy to reach from your accommodation. How you’re travelling makes a big difference – if you’re driving, you’ll be able to visit any of the pumpkin patches on this list, while those using public transport will be limited to the patches closer to bus or train routes.
- Check the Activities: If you’re going with family or friends, make sure the patch has extra activities like mazes, hayrides, or craft workshops. These little extras can turn a simple pumpkin-picking trip into a full day of fun.
- Timing Matters: Visiting earlier in October usually means fewer crowds, milder weather, and fresher pumpkins. By mid-to-late October, patches can get muddy and busy.
- Look at Reviews or Recommendations: Online reviews are a great way to find patches that deliver a great autumn experience rather than just a photo opportunity.
- Check Costs and Booking Requirements: Some pumpkin patches require tickets in advance, and prices can vary. Make sure you know what’s included in the price so there are no surprises.
- Think About Your Priorities: Whether you’re after a budget-friendly outing, a fun family day, or a chance to support local farms, knowing your priorities will help you choose the perfect pumpkin patch.
How to Make the Most of Your Pumpkin Patch Visit in Scotland
Visiting a pumpkin patch in Scotland is such a wholesome day out for the whole family. Not only are you supporting local farms and homegrown produce instead of supermarket chains, but many pumpkin patches also offer extra fun to keep everyone entertained, from bouncy castles to mazes, and spooky haunted trails. A trip to a pumpkin patch is more than just picking a pumpkin!
That being said, don’t be entirely fooled by the cute Instagram pictures. Pumpkin patches in Scotland can get really cold, and tickets can feel a little steep for what you get. By mid-to-late October, the ground often turns muddy from all the visitors wandering through the fields.
To make the most of your trip, aim to visit earlier in the month or around mid-October, when it’s less crowded and the weather is a bit milder.
If you’re on a tight budget, I’d recommend ditching going to a pumpkin patch and just heading to your local supermarket to pick up a pumpkin there instead. You’ll save money and can focus on the fun part – carving your pumpkins while watching Halloween movies with the family.
✨ Top Tip: Be ready for the elements. That means swapping your cute Instagram outfit for something more practical – pack your wellies, a warm jumper, a cosy jacket, and brace yourself for the cold, rain, and the inevitable mud.
